February 7, 2016, Houston, TX. Stages of Hobby Center in Houston, TX presented performances in many different languages including English, French, Turkish, Spanish, and German to the crowd of over 3,000 people on Saturday, February 6th. Organized by Raindrop Foundation the 14th Annual International Language and Culture Festival was a huge success.
Students from France, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Georgia, Ukraine, Tunisia, Germany, Senegal, Mexico Pakistan, Indonesia, and many different parts of southwestern states of the USA showcased their amazing their artistic talents. As organizers of the festival pointed out, students were able to present live performances with so much passion and love, they all worked so well together and inspired everyone in the room no doubt to have hope for our future as they each celebrated each other’s cultural differences, similarities and language all while knowing we are same.
The emcee of the night, Rocko Stedy Narvios, a well known performer of inspirational and motivational music, also took the stage with students and sang along to the famous “Language of Love” tune in front of the sold out venue. Among many distinguished guests were Al Green (D-TX), Pete Olson (R-TX), honorary guests from Consulate Generals’ offices of Angola, Belarus, and Indonesia, as well as many state delegates and community leaders.
