White House honored Rumi Forum

The White House announced on its website, that Rumi Forum, one of the Turkish organizations in the US, gave an award to Joshua DuBois, head of the Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships in the Executive Office of the President of the United States.On the White House’s website of the Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, it was announced that at this years ceremony for “Peace and Dialogue” Mr. DuBois was awarded for his Extraordinary Commitment to Public Service by Rumi Forum.

In the article it is mentioned that Rumi Forum also awarded the human rights advocate Desmond Tutu, Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town South Africa, Diane Rehm, Americas famous radio speaker, Alan Merten, president of George Mason University, and John Bryson Chane, Episcopal Bishop of Washington.

In this article, it is also mentioned that Mr. DuBois and his team, in accordance with President Obama’s policy The Heritage of Variety is Power not weakness, would like to cooperate with Rumi Forum in order to improve cross cultural relations in the US as well as worldwide.

The article which uses the words of Mevlana, “Leave these confusing thoughts of fear. Live in silence”, emphasizes that the awarded people just are worldwide forerunners of this idea.

Also, the recent earthquakes in Turkey were mentioned on the website by stating “In these hard times our hearts and feelings are with the Turkish nation.Rumi Forum’s traditional Peace and Dialogue Awards honored its winners on October 26, 2011 in the International Press Club in Washington DC.
