Turkish Day Celebrations in Nevada Legislature

May 7, 2015, Carson City, NV – In Nevada, the Sierra Foundation, founded by the West America Turkic Council (WATC) and local Turkish-Americans, worked together to set up a Turkish Day to exemplify their cultural hospitality.

The council started the event by stressing the Sierra Foundation’s plans of cross-cultural dialog, acceptance of one another, and the respectable efforts the foundation puts into maintaining mutual friendships with everyone.

The Sierra Foundation was awarded by the Nevada Legislature for the stated plans that the foundation demonstrates.

In addition to the Sierra Foundation, attendees included numerous individuals some of which were senators, congressmen, councilmen, and bureaucrats. The guests were treated with a delectable, genuine Turkish cuisine and were able to experience a demonstration of the ancient Turkish art of ebru, or water marbling.
