Turkic Americans Voiced the Message of Unity and Peace at the New York State Reception

The New York State Reception is organized by Council of Turkic American Associations (CTAA) and New York Turkish Cultural Center (TCC). 8th Turkic Culture Day celebrated with the representatives of the Turkic governments. The event was sponsored by Vakıfbank. More than 200 State Senators and Delegates were in attendance.

The Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo was awarded for the best leadership. New York State Minister of Foreign Affairs Cesar A. Parales took the award on his behalf and delivered a speech. Some of the Senators and Deputies expressed that they have been in Turkey and were amazed by hospitality of Turkish people.

CTAA President Furkan Kosar told that they regularly organize Turkic Culture Days on the East Coast and New England states such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. He also highlighted this program held in New York was very important because of many Turkic Americans live in the area.

Turkic Culture Day continued with a panel named “Relations between the United States and the Turkic Countries”. New York Consul General of Turkey, Levent Bilgen, New York Consul General of Kazakhstan, Raushan Yesbultova, Azerbaijan Politician Director Emin Ibrahimow and Kyrgyz Club President Aybek Hakimov also attended the program.
