Turkic American Alliance’s delegation headed by its President Dr. Faruk Taban had a friendly visit at the headquarters of ruling AK Party (Justice and Development Party) in Ankara. Particularly, the delegation paid a special visit to Ekrem Erdem, Deputy Chairman, at his office.

Deputy Chairman Erdem, who attended Annual 2013 Turkic American Convention in Washington, DC earlier in March, was very glad to see his guests from the US and was very delighted to hear the news that Dr. Taban attended first annual Turks Abroad and Relative Communities meeting as a board member representing Turkish diaspora in the US.

On his behalf, Dr. Taban thanked him for being a part of that convention and wished to see him again next year. Mr. Erdem also listened to a small briefing on presentation of 2013 Annual Convention reports. He expressed his sincere gratitude for organizing such a tremendous event to build prosperous relations with the US and bring Turkic communities all together as well. Recent events in Istanbul were also discussed. Mr. Erdem noted that while protesters were attacking the police officers, regular citizens were suffering the most, but despite that fact, government always tries to conduct necessary actions to find out ways to end these unpleasant events.

At the end of the meeting Dr. Taban gave a small present to Honorable Deputy Chairman and both of them hoped that this meeting will turn onto a regular basis, both in Turkey and the US.
