TAA Interns Tour VIU

July 24, 2015, Virginia – Turkic American Alliance visited Virginia International University (VIU), located in Fairfax, Virginia to receive a tour and also to listen to a presentation about the school.

VIU is a young and relative small institution. With a student population of just under 1200, VIU is just beginning its journey. Even before this growth, the school’s students were receiving excellent education and excellent jobs. Due to its optimal location just outside of Washington DC, the VIU’s graduates are especially well set for jobs in the government and business ventures that make DC what it is. VIU’s dedication to population growth, increasing options for majors, great teachers, perfect location are ingredients for success. Many people foresee great things in VIU’s future.

As future undergraduates, the tour was especially intriguing for TAA’s group of interns. Any inside glimpse into a college is a rare and coveted opportunity, especially when a lecture and a Q&A session with a dean is involved. Not many high school students can say they’ve gotten the opportunity to speak directly with a dean, those that will indubitably say that it was an eye-opening experience as reported by several of the interns of that group. The interns said that the dean was very friendly, and answered their questions in as didactic a fashion as possible.

TAA believes that this kind of first-hand experience of universities is something that every pre-undergraduate needs and we thank VIU for their generous offer to provide a tour to our well rounded interns.
