TAA Attends Ethnic Day at the White House

On Friday, February 7th, TAA representatives were invited to attend Ethnic Day at the White House, a day-long event that included a tour of the White House and briefings by high-level officials in the Obama Administration. These distinguished officials included White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting Benjamin Rhodes, in addition to other senior National Security Council Staff, staff from the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, and representatives from the National Economic Council.

In addition to TAA representatives, around 100 ethnic American leaders from the Turkish, Albanian, Arab, Armenian, Bosnian, Croatian, Greek, Irish, Italian, Hungarian, Macedonian, Polish, Serbian, Sikh, Syrian, and Ukrainian diaspora communities attended the briefing. Policy topics included immigration, healthcare, the economy and foreign policy.
