On the weekend of November 14th-16th, staff from the Turkic American Alliance (TAA), its board members, representatives and student leaders from across the U.S. attended the Clinton Presidential Center’s 10th Year Celebration event in Little Rock, Arkansas, to show support from the Turkic community.

The 3-day event was aimed at celebrating and reflecting on the impact of the Center on the local community since its inception in 2004, and honoring its commitment to service and empowering people across the globe. Dr. Faruk Taban, the President of the Turkic American Alliance and Bilal Eksili, President of Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians (TCAE), met with former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State. Dr. Taban presented Secretary Clinton a ceramic plate to show the Turkic American community’s support for the Clinton’s and the Clinton Presidential Center’s initiatives, and its gratitude for the support it has received from the Clinton family over the years.

During the event, Dr. Taban and the group attended the Picnic Under the Pavilion, the No Ceilings Conversation, the Community Concert, and the Clinton Foundation Day of Action for Little Rock.

Dr. Taban visited the Raindrop Cultural Center, where he met with Arkansas state Representative Warwick Sabin and discussed the history of Little Rock and the role organizations such as the Clinton Center in promoting socio-economic development in Arkansas. The student leaders also had an opportunity to learn about U.S. politics and the role state governments play in serving the community.
