Syracuse Community Opens Well in Kenya

November 9, 2015, Syracuse NY. Volunteers from The Turkish Cultural Center in Syracuse collected donations to fund a water well in Kilifi, Kenya. The water well campaign, initiated by Embrace Relief, started in 2011 with the help of volunteers and sponsors. Since then, over 150 water wells have been built in regions with little or no access to drinking water.

In 2014, a water well was constructed in Uganda, in memory of James Foley, an American journalist killed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) earlier this year.
