Rumi Forum 6th Annual Dinner in Delaware

November 12, 2014, Delaware, MD. The Rumi Forum and American Turkish Friendship Association of Delaware (ATFA-DE) hosted its 6th Annual Friendship Dinner in Delaware.

Ergin Sarikaya, Director of American Turkish Friendship Association in Delaware, presented its activities and partnerships with the community this year. Dr. Mehmet Saracoglu, Director for Government, Media and Community Affairs from Rumi Forum in Washington, D.C. discussed the value of appreciating everyday heroes and the importance of acknowledging the unrecognized leaders of communities.

This year’s dinner was dedicated to the “Syrian Blanket and Coat Drive” project and the humanitarian aid efforts of Embrace Relief. Osman Dulgeroglu, CEO of Embrace Relief shared the importance and impact of the project on solving the immediate needs of Syrian refugees in Turkey. US Senator Tom Carper (DE) was also present, emphasizing the significance of initiating humanitarian projects. Other distinguished guests included State Representative Paul Baumbach and Rev. Greg Jones of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington Delaware.
