Millions of Muslims are celebrating the Ramadan Eid that ends the month of Ramadan by participating in feasts, family reunions, and other festivities.  The American Turkish Friendship Association, ATFA organized Eid (Bayram) Programs on Sunday, August 19th. On the first morning of  Eid,  around 700 Muslims in the Northern Virginia area attended the Eid prayer at Annandale High School at 07:45 am. Breakfast was served after the prayer, which was then followed by the exchange of greetings of family and friends.

ATFA also organized a Ramadan Bayram Celebration Program for everyone at the NOVA Annandale Campus at 6:00 pm. About 600 Turkic Americans came together to enjoy Turkish food and a concert. There was also “Hacivat-Karagoz”, a traditional Turkish shadow play, specially done about the month of Ramadan. A puppet show was organized for the dozens of kids at the program. The celebration ended with Suleyman Erkisi, a famous Turkish singer,  performing Traditional Turkish music.
