Prof. Dr. Musa Hakan Asyali’s visit to TAA

Prof. Dr. Musa Hakan Asyali founder Rector of Abdullah Gul University (AGU) in Kayseri, Turkey visited our headquarters with his family. Main goal of his visit to the Turkic American Alliance is to introduce newly founding university at the heart of Kayseri named by Turkish President Abdullah Gulto the Turkic American community. Thus, Dr. Asyali has chosen to come to TAA and to learn about its programs for possible cooperation. President of Turkic American Alliance, Dr. Faruk Taban has also come with his family and they had a breakfast all together.

During the breakfast Dr. Musa Hakan Asyali mentioned how the AGU is being constructed and what will be the University’s goal. He said “even though there is hardship of becoming a founder of such a university we hope we will pass this process easily with the help of people who love to donate for the education”. His main point was that people now know the value of education and thus, they build their own universities. Dr. Asyali has also mentioned President Gul’s close help for this university.

As Dr. Musa H. Asyali told the AGU will start to accept students in the fall of 2012. He expressed AGU’s goal to be like Middle East Technical University (METU) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and even better than those universities. According to Dr. Asyali AGU will focus on more technical fields as well as foreign languages, especially English. Therefore, he invites academicians to come to work at the Abdullah Gul University. His discussion with Assistant ProfessorNecmettin Mutlu from the Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) has turned kind of beginning steps. They discussed many possible fields of cooperation in education.

In addition, Dr. Asyali showed up movie of AGU’s architectural plans which based on Seljuq Empir’s architectural designs. Afterward, Dr. Asyali gave a small present to the Turkic American Alliance. Dr. Asyali with his family came also to the beautiful rooftop of the Turkic American Alliance and took a picture for remembrance.
