Pacifica Institute Organizes Asia-Pacific Intercultural Trip

In late August, 2015, a delegation of U.S. state legislatures from Alaska and Hawaii participated in an intercultural trip to the Asia-Pacific. The delegation had an opportunity to visited Thailand and Cambodia and explored potential partnership opportunities between the countries and their respective states. In addition, they attended meetings with the Thailand Chamber of Commerce, including the Cambodian Senate Trade & Economic Development Committee. As part of their trip, they also studied the evolution of educational development of Cambodia after the civil war in 1979 and met with educational institutions to explore and education exchange opportunities.
