Embrace Relief Helps in Austin, TX

December 2, 2015. Embrace Relief donated $51,000 to Bastrop County to assist its long-term recovery process that resulted from the Hidden Pines Fire that resulted to 64 families losing their homes in October. The donations would be used to families and the community to purchase materials needed to build homes.

The fundraising dinner was organized by Embrace Relief and Raindrop Foundation and was attended by close to 75 people. Among the guests were Judge Paul Pape of Bastrop County; Sheila Lowe, President of the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery Team and Christine Files,Chair of the Board. Also present was Mahmut Gok, Executive Director of Embrace Relief; Orhan Kucukosman, President & CEO of the American Turkic Business Council & Texas Turkish American Chamber of Commerce, Kuaybe Basturk, Austin Branch Director of the Raindrop Women’s Association.

The event concluded with Judge Paul Pape signed a proclamation, marking December 2nd as Turkish-American Day in Bastrop County.
