Anatolian Iftar in Austin

June, 27, 2015 Austin, TX -Raindrop Turkish House organized an iftar program with Austin county. This iftar brought different people from, such as college students, business people, academics, engineers and all kinds of professionals  together.

Elementary school teacher Gülsüm Canay Emiroğlu said: “The organization was great. Everyone was friendly and kind. First of all, I’d like to thank the ladies for the great dinner, and also the  volunteers that helped them. I am thankful to be here, and it’s a great pleasure to know you. Well as you know  I met you guys here in United States, but if  I ever go back to Turkey, don’t forget you are always in my heart. Sevinc Istek a well known person in the Turkish community talked about the dinner by saying, “I have lived in Austin for around 20 years, I wish we can increase these types of activities. I see this Ramadan dinner as great step. As a whole community I wish you have a great holiday.”

Natalin Yagiz, an american who is married to a Turkish man , stated that she feels like she at home and she wants to continue these programs.

Deniz Soydan, thanked everyone that put effort in helping make this iftar. She thanked all the cook for the delicious food. which comprised of lentil soup, meat and chicken, cig kofte (Turkish signature dish), sarma (n stuffed grape leaves), and baklava.
