Today, a Turkish Interior Ministry Delegation visited TAA headquarters. Turkic American Alliance offered luncheon for the honor of these distinguished guests. Another delegation consist of Deputy and District governors of the Interior Ministry of Turkey had also visited TAA headquarters around two months ago. Thus, today’s visit had a special meaning. During the luncheon TAA introductory movie was shown to guests. Afterward, Mr. Murat Akkus, Program Director at the TAA warmly welcomed distinguished guests and invited Dr. Faruk Taban, President of TAA to the podium. Dr. Taban also warmly welcomed guests and said “your visits are really important for us and for our organization”.
Furthermore, Mr. Murat Akkus gave a presentation to the guests about TAA’s work and its structure. There were an interesting question and answer section. Mr. Akkus then introduced Mr. Erol A. Cebeci, Executive Director of SETA DC and invited him to the podium in order to discuss about Turkish-American relations. Mr. Cebeci explained to the distinguished guests Turkish American organizations and how they are working in Washington D.C. and in general in the US. He clearly specified the difference of the perception of lobbying in Turkey and the US. And then, Mr. Cebeci discussed about Public Policy institutes and their roles in the politics of the US. Overall, Mr. Cebeci answered the questions of the distinguished guests based on academic analysis and self-experienced observations of his 30 years experience. Deputy and District governors gave gifts to Mr. Erol Cebeci and Dr. Faruk Taban as a remembrance from today’s visit.
