The 3rd Annual Turkic American Convention, in partnership with TUSKON, is widely celebrated as a huge success. The TAC was held at the JW Marriot in downtown Washington, D.C., on March 13, 2013.The Turkic American Convention drew attendance from a large and distinguished body of guests. In all, nearly 1,000 guests attended the Convention, including 8 U.S. Senators, 42 Congressmen, 20 Turkic Members of Parliaments, 1 Governor, 4 Mayors, 2 Secretaries of State and 15 Ambassadors. The Convention kicked off on the evening of March 12 with a dinner cruise on the Potomac River. The following day, attendees enjoyed a robust and diverse program which included 8 forum sessions organized by the Rethink Institute of Washington, D.C., as well as a luncheon with the keynote address delivered by Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, Robert Blake. The Convention concluded with the Pre-Gala and Gala Dinner attended by distinguished guests such as U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Shultz. The event was emceed by MSNBC’s Richard Lui.
