On Wednesday, April 10, 2013, an impressive number of Turkic Americans went to Providence, Rhode Island, with the intent meeting their legislator and to introduce the Turkic culture to their legislators. The “Turkic Day “was organized by Council of Turkic American Associations.
Traditional Turkic food, music, dance and cultural activities were very interested to all 50 guest who gathered at the State House, to show their support and dedication to the advancing of US-Turkic relations. Guest at the event included Rep. Joseph Shekarchi, Senator Adam J. Satchell, Rep. Peter F. Martin, Senator Leonidas P. Raptakir, General Treasurer Gina Raimondo, and Rep. Doreen Costa. The purpose of the event was to increase friendship and understanding of the Turkish culture by sharing the rich heritage of the Turkish people.
