On September 30th, 2014, the Turkish American Business Network (TABN) held its 1st annual Mid-Atlantic Small Business Summit at the Fairview Marriott in Northern Virginia. The summit brought together over 200 small business owners and professionals, including leaders and experts in business development from a variety of sectors in the Mid-Atlantic region, in addition to elected officials.
During the summit, participants were provided the opportunity to attend a series of workshops and forums that disseminated information on various topics such as gaining access to capital and funding, the methods and procedures of obtaining local state and government contracts, and insights Piggyslots and techniques into expanding business opportunities.
The event concluded with a reception and gala dinner featuring distinguished speakers such as William D. Euille, the Mayor of Alexandria, Virginia; the Hon. Rob Wittman, U.S. Congressman from Virginia; Nick Spanos, Co-founder of Bitcoin Center in New York City; Varol Ablak, CEO of Vocelli Pizza; and John Powell, Senior Vice President of EagleBank.
TABN was established to create business bridges between Turkish-American and American businesses by promoting economic development, developing workshops and forums to encourage partnerships, and increasing collaboration in trade and industry. As part of its mission, it seeks to inspire the Turkish-American community to assist in expanding its professional networks, as well as to gather insight on best practices from successful leaders. TABN is a member organization of the Mid Atlantic Federation of Turkic American Associations (MAFTAA). MAFTAA is one of six member federations under the Turkic American Alliance located in Washington, D.C.
