Turkic American Alliance organized its last Ramadan dinner for participants of The Office of International Religious Freedom on Thursday, August 16th. There were more than thirty guests in attendance. Among the guests were the Former Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Asif Chaudhry; deputy foreign policy advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations Sarah Dachos; President of the Mitchell Firm Greg Mitchell; members from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ahmediyya Muslims, Episcopal and Baptist traditions.
The president of TAA, Faruk Taban, welcomed the guests with an introductory speech introducing TAA and its role in the United States. Following President Taban the Honorable guest speaker Ambassador Asif Chaudhry expressed how the guests in attendance encompassed the spirit of America through their diversity. He discussed how something like this was only possible in such an open and accepting society which exists only in the United States. He also mentioned how Ramadan is a month that focuses on community and bringing people together. After their meal, guests went to the TAA’s rooftop as a tradition enjoying the Capitol Hill view along with their Turkish tea.
