On December 10, 2014, representatives from the National Conference of State Legislators and 15 state legislators across the U.S. attended a reception at the TAA headquarters along with TAA member federation presidents — Mahmut Yeter, Executive Director of Mid Atlantic Federation of Turkic American Associations (MAFTAA); Suleyman Turhanogullari, President of Turkic American Federation of Midwest (TAFM). The visiting delegation was in Washington D.C. to attend the NCSL Winter Forum. Dr. Faruk Taban, TAA President welcomed the group and discussed TAA’s current programs and upcoming initiatives, including the 5th Annual Turkic American Convention and a trip to Turkey in the Spring.
