Turkish Bloomberg TV hosted Faruk Taban, Turkic American Alliance President, on live evening news to discuss current regional issues and particularly recent Annual Turkic American Convention in Washington, DC.
2013 Annual Turkic American Convention was the main focus of TAA President’s appearance on the news. He emphasized the importance of such events abroad and highlighted the overall growing success of Annual Turkic American Conventions. In cooperation with the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), the theme of the 2013 Convention was Energy, Trade and Development. The goal was to advance the existing partnership between the Turkic countries and the United States, as well as increasing economic cooperation and opening new opportunities for long-term initiatives between American and Turkic businesses.
Regional economic issues were also discussed during the show. Dr. Taban answered questions regarding the economic crisis in South Cyprus and reaction of the United States to that problem. According to the officials, Central Bank of South Cyprus announced that the banks will be closed for two more days. Dr. Taban commented that the situation hopefully would not get worse.
