Turkic American Alliance organized a lunch for “The Civilizations Choir of Antakya”. The choir is a mosaic of outstanding performers from Turkey.
Actually, The Choir has 130 members from the southern city’s rich variety of peoples. They performed hymns from the three major monotheistic religions in order to build a bridge between civilizations with harmony and peace.
The purpose of the choir is to demonstrate people all over the world that we all can live peacefully and friendly dispute of all different religions and ethnicity. Thus, the choir has a great mission to maintain international peace and security.
The choir performers are from the three major monotheistic religions. It is kind of the symbol of Turkey’s cultural uniqueness. Turkey is a synthesis of diverse and heterogeneous elements borrowed from other Anatolian, Mediterranean, European and Mesopotamian civilizations.
Hatay Governor Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz mentioned that Hatay is known to be one of the most interesting and culturally diverse cities in southern Turkey. With its mixture of Arab and Turkish speaking people, as well a Christian minority, the city offers an ethnic charm that is very endearing. Governor also mentioned that Hatay is in a great shape in terms of economical structure. He ended his speech thanking Turkic American Alliance for this environment.
