Pinnacle Academy students met with Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray during the ceremony of signing “Sister City” agreement with Mayor of Ankara Melih Gokcek. Director of Pinnacle Academy Mustafa Akpinar has also accompanied these students. Mayor Gray talked with the students and especially interested in “Future City Competition” which Pinnacle Academy students had been champions. Mr. Akpinar mentioned to Mayor about that these students was invited tothe White House Science
Fair on October 18, 2010 and met with US President Barack Obama.The Winning project of Pinnacle Academy was a city named Yeshilist which was an engineering feat by being a green city that benefitted earthquake victims. Yeshilist has solar panel roofs, wind-powered community centers, cork brick homes, and cable trains made from Lego pieces that are scattered around the city. Mayor Vincent Gray wish continuation of their success.
