Opening Reception of the TAA 2nd Annual Convention was held at the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C in the evening of November 29th. Mr. Mehmet Simsek Turkey’s Minister of Finance, Turkish Parliamentarians, TAA President Dr. Faruk Taban and Heads of TAA member federations and organizations were in attendance as well as other distinguished American and Turkish guests.
Ambassador Namik Tan of Turkey warmly welcomed distinguished guests and said I was happy when TAA asked me to have this wonderful reception at the Embassy. In recent days, Turkey has become a country which is discussed a lot about it and it is in view in the United States and everywhere of the world. As a main source of these achievements His Excellency underlined importance of political and economic stability in Turkey.
By emphasizing the Turkey-US relationship has come to a perfect level today in comparison to last year Ambassador Tan requested political participation of Turkish people who are living in the US to American politics. Afterward, His Excellency noted that TAA’s work is right method and right goal in the US and the TAA Annual Convention of this year is one of the evidences of that.
