May 28, 2015, Washington, D.C. – on Thursday, May 28, Dr. Faruk Taban and TAA staff hosted a delegation from the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg. The delegation was headed by Dr. Joyce M. Davis, President and CEO of the organization. Dr. Davis and her staff joined TAA over a lunch, while the primary purpose of the visit was to discuss areas of further cooperation between the NGOs.
Dr. Taban started the meeting by introducing himself and TAA with a short presentation and a promotional video. The discussion about TAA activities led to a more detailed discussion of TAA organized trips to Turkey, which has proved to be a valuable tool for cultural enrichment. Dr. Davis and her staff were also acquainted with the International Language and Culture Festival. Noting their appreciation of the value of such an event, both for the young ones who compete and enrich themselves, and audiences across the world who get to experience different colors of the world on one stage, WAC delegation expressed that they would wish to cooperate with TAA on this front, and hold a similar festival in their home city of Harrisburg.
After the lunch and further discussion of U.S. – Turkey bilateral relations, both sides exchanged gifts and took photographs.
