May 10, 2015, Wayne, NJ – Turkish Cultural Center of New Jersey organized the Spring Family Festival on Pioneer Academy grounds. This was the first such festival organized by TCC NJ, and the center hopes to turn it into an annual tradition.
The program started at 11:00 AM in the morning, with Pioneer Academy principal, Tufan Aydin’s welcoming speech. Following Tufan Aydin, one of New York’s most famous musicians, Amir Alan Vahab took the stage to mesmerize the guests with his unique mystical style of traditional Middle Eastern music from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran and many other countries. While guests were listening to Mr. Vahab’s performances, they enjoyed Turkish delicacies.
For younger guests, the center had put together moon bounces, popcorn stands, a face painting area and a small amusement park. Pioneer’s middle schoolers also treated them with a performance of their own, when they took the stage to display their dancing skills in traditional Turkish dances.
