On Tuesday, August 5th, H.E. Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AU), visited the TAA headquarters where he received a tour. During the lunch meeting, TAA President Dr. Taban presented on TAA and its activities across the United States. H.E Mwencha was impressed by TAA’s work at the grassroots level and its role of building relations with U.S. and Central Asian countries to promote peace and harmony across both regions. Mr. Mwencha also called for unity among nations and emphasized the “need and value to connect with Africa and its people”.
H.E. Mwencha was in Washington D.C., to attend the U.S.-Africa Summit held on Aug 4-6th, 2014 aimed at improving such a good point the trade framework of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) as well as assisting in creating investment opportunities and support for businesses and investors in the U.S. and Africa.
