On February 14th, Lamija Silajdžić, Project Assistant at the Turkic American Alliance (TAA), delivered a presentation before the International Relations Committee during the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) Winter Meetings in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Silajdžić discussed TAA projects and organizational goals, Turkey trips and the 4th Annual Turkic American Convention on April 8th and 9th. The Honorable Secretary for the District of Columbia, Cynthia Brock-Smith, presided over the committee as its co-chair. In addition to Ms. Silajdžić, Mary D. Kane, President and CEO of Sister Cities International, also delivered a presentation on the importance of Sister City programs for U.S. local government. The committee warmly welcomed TAA, and Secretary Brock-Smith encouraged the Secretaries to attend the Turkic American Convention in April if they are in town.
