Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Chairman of Turkey’s Republican People’s Party (CHP), and a CHP delegation visited the Turkic American Alliance on December 3rd, 2013. The CHP delegation consisted of seven members of parliament, including Deputy Chairmen Faruk Loğoğlu, Sezgin Tanrikulu and Faik Öztırak, Parliamentary Group Deputy Chair Enver Altay, in addition to MP Aytun Çıray, MP Kamer Genç and MP Aykan Erdemir. The delegation was joined by Dr. Faruk Taban, President of TAA, Mahmut Yeter, Executive Director of the Mid-Atlantic Federation of Turkic American Associations, Kemal Öksüz, President of the Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians (TCAE), and Talha Saraç, President of the Turkish American Business Network. The Turkish American community leaders informed Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu of their social, academic and cultural activities. Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu, in return, shared his party’s vision regarding foreign policy, efforts to embrace different segments of society in Turkey, and CHP’s overall reception in Washington, D.C.
TAA and its regional federations are glad to have had an audience with Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and the CHP delegation as we continue to host prominent political leaders from Turkey. We would like to thank Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu for his visit, which we hope will further contribute to a strengthening of Turkish-American relations in the future.
