We at the Turkic American Alliance are deeply troubled by efforts in favor of H. Res. 306 at the US Congress.While we strongly support further enhancement of rights for all non-Muslim minorities and overall religious freedoms in Turkey and elsewhere, the H Res. 306 contains some language which is extremely unfair, hence unacceptable.Ottoman Empire is accused of intentional destruction of much of its ancient Christian populations. The claim is immediately unsubstantiated merely by
theexistence ofseveral Christian majority contemporary nations such as Greece and Bulgaria established in former Ottoman lands.
