We, as the Turkic American Alliance, are now living the joy of hosting the second traditional Ramadan (Iftar) dinner at our headquarters. We invited people from Government offices and other various agencies, Congressional staffers and Academicians as well as Representatives from the Turkic American Community and other community leaders. There were around 60 guests. Program Director of the Turkic American Alliance, Murat Akkus warmly welcomed guests as everyone was seated for dinner. Guests broke their fast with dates,
water as well as other bevarages after listening to the Athan. Delicious home made Turkish delicacies were served at dinner. During the program an introductory video of the Turkic American Alliance and speeches of US Congressmen and Senators was shown to the guests .
President of Turkic American Alliance, Dr. Faruk Taban, then talked to guests and summarized the purpose of promoting cultural understanding of TAA. Afterwards, he mentioned briefly what has been done as an organization. Dr. Taban also highlighted the importance of being connected with other Turkic federations and councils in the U.S. Significantly, for the first time, Dr. Taban introduced two new programs of the Turkic American Alliance during his speech. The Turkic American Alliance is currently organizing Congressional and, Ambassadors Talk series as well as other various programs. Fortunately, now two more programs, which are the TAA Ministers Talk Series and Presidents Talk Series were introduced. Dr. Taban underlined the fact that Ministers in Turkey are interested in visiting our headquarters in order to get informed about Turkic American Community’s work in the U.S., there are Ministers from other countries who told us their intention to come and see Turkic American Alliance. The President of Turkic American Alliance then mentioned that”we have plans to invite those Ministers to give speeches at our headquarters to our invaluable audience and by expanding these efforts we also plan to organize Presidential Talk series”.
In the end of the evening, the guests enjoyed the stunning view of the night lights from the rooftop as they sipped their Turkish tea.
