Dr. Faruk Taban attended NAAG Spring Meeting

The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) hosted its annual Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year’s conference is “Opportunities and Challenges in State-Federal Relationships”. The National Attorneys General launched its annual spring conference March 5-6, Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. More than 36 AG members and total more than 150 people attended the conference. The reception held in the area in front of the Supreme Court. After that they took a family picture as Supreme Court members.

The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest judicial body in the United States. Its membership currently consists of the Chief Justice of the United States and eight Associate Justices. At the event three of them were there who were Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

President of TAA, Faruk Taban mentioned that he personally had a conversation with Director McPearson, and AG members: Tom Horne(AZ), John Sutters(CO), Catherine Cortez Musto(NV), Kamela Harris(CA), Robert McCenna(WA), Michael Gregharty(AK), David Louis(HW), Jeffrey Chiesa(NJ), Linda Kelly(PA), George Jepsen(CT), Peter Kilmartin(RI), Martha Oakley(MA), Sam Olens(GA), Robert Cooper(TN), Jim Hood(MS), Gary King(NM), Lisa Madigan(IL), Greg Zoeller(IN), Jack Conway(KY), Ray Cooper(NC), and Guam Larry Rapadas.

Overall, forty-nine state and territorial Attorneys General, their staff, federal officials, and corporate and association representatives convened to discuss a variety of legal issues including intellectual property (campus piracy), consumer protection, computer forensics, and counterfeit and pirated items distributed over the Internet. There would also be an overview of this term’s U.S. Supreme Court cases.
