Raindrop Foundation Holds Thanksgiving Dinner

On November 20th, 2014, The Raindrop Foundation hosted its Annual Thanksgiving Dinner in Houston, Texas. The dinner was also a commemoration of Citizenship Month–an annual volunteer driven celebration showcasing Houston’s civic diversity. Attended by over 300 guests, the event was organized in collaboration with Glenshire Community Association, Bray Oaks Management District, Dialogue Institute of Southwest, Citizenship Month Committee, The Office of International Communities,The Houston Food Bank and the Turkish American Women’s Association in Houston.

Among the distinguished guests were Congressman Al Green; Bill Flores, President of University of Houston- Downtown; Marcy Williams, President of the Brays Oaks Super Neighborhood; Dr. Helen Rose Ebaugh, Professor of Sociology at the university of Houston; Christine Dobbyn, ABC 13 News’ emmy award-winning reporter in Houston.

Congressman Al Green discussed the importance of diversity and maintaining national unity while Flores shared his thoughts on Raindrop Foundation’s role in improving educational and social progress in addition to advancing the needs of the community. Ms.Williams concluded the evening by emphasizing the need for establishing strong values within society and recognized the Raindrop Foundation its dedication towards reaching maintaining its core values.

The event also featured an artistic performance showcasing Ebru Water Marbling and sand art.
