On September 12th, 2014, Adem G. Aydin, co-founder of the Turkish Cultural Center in Vermont, was interviewed by the Burlington Free Press, in which he shared the pillars of the organization's rapid growth and success since its establishment in 2011.
In the interview, Mr. Aydin mentioned that he was inspired by Fethullah Gülen’s guiding principles of "embracing differences" and ensuring that "differences have an opportunity to survive." He also credits the Cultural Center’s rise to community collaborations, contributions from members as well as volunteers who have been paramount to its success.

Today, on this anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, the Turkic American Alliance mourns and remembers those 2,977 innocentvictims whose lives were cut tragically short, as well as their loved ones, families and friends who continue to bear the weight of grief and loss. On July 11th and July 12th, 2014, Dr. Faruk Taban, the President of the Turkic American Alliance, attended the National Governors Association Summer Meeting, which has held this year in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Taban attended the Opening Session, for which the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden, delivered the keynote remarks. Dr. Taban also attended the Education and Workforce Committee, chaired by Governor Steven Beshear of Kentucky, the Natural Resources Committee, chaired by Governor Jack Dalrymple of North Dakota, in addition to receptions at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium.

On June 23rd, New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan led a group of seven state businesses and state staff on a trade mission to Turkey in order to promote international trade and explore opportunities in emerging sectors in the country. The trip also aimed to help strengthen and increase U.S.-Turkey trade overall through dialogue and partnerships. The Turkic American Alliance (TAA), the largest national Turkic organization in the US, held hold its fourth annual Turkic American Convention in Washington, D.C., in cooperation with the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), the Rethink Institute and the Turkic American Chamber of Commerce (TACC).
The Welcome Reception on the evening of April 8th was attended by 20 U.S. Members of Congress and Turkish Members of Parliament, including two U.S. Senators. This event coincides annually with the NAAG winter meetings. The First Annual U.S.-Kazakhstan Convention was a great success!
The Convention took place on Wednesday, December 11th at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., and featured a Breakfast and Opening Ceremony and two Panel Sessions. The theme of the Convention was “Successful Strategic Partnership” between the United States and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
