    On July 11th and July 12th, 2014, Dr. Faruk Taban, the President of the Turkic American Alliance, attended the National Governors Association Summer Meeting, which has held this year in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Taban attended the Opening Session, for which the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden, delivered the keynote remarks. Dr. Taban also attended the Education and Workforce Committee, chaired by Governor Steven Beshear of Kentucky, the Natural Resources Committee, chaired by Governor Jack Dalrymple of North Dakota, in addition to receptions at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium.     On Monday July 7th, 2014, TAA staff visited the ABC7/WJLA-TV studio and News Channel 8--award-winning news, entertainment and sports media stations covering local news for the greater Washington, D.C., area. The guided tour included an exclusive behind-the scenes experience of television production in the studios, which included the assignment desk, newsroom, green room and media center where daytime and evening broadcasting take place.
